THOMAS E. GARDNER
CEO & Founder
Tom Gardner is CEO and founder of Omeza, LLC. Tom is co-founder of KeyView Labs (cognitive health dietary supplements), former chairman of IntegriChain (informed software applications for the pharmaceutical industry sold to Accel-KKR), and former chairman of MMIT (managed market insights and technology for the pharmaceuticals industry). He is co-founder of BRIDGE Angel Investors, LLC.
Earlier, Tom was CEO of several public and private companies including Nucryst Pharmaceuticals (sold to Smith & Nephew), Songbird Hearing (sold controlling interest to Procter & Gamble), Datamonitor (IPO on London Stock Exchange), Base Ten Systems (assets sold to Smiths Aerospace and ABB Group), and Access Health (sold to HBOC and now part of McKesson Health Solutions). Earlier, Tom held marketing and general management positions at Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. He earned a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas (Minnesota) and has been a guest lecturer on marketing channels at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
President & COO
Sarah Kitlowski, MBA, is the President and Chief Operating Officer at Omeza, LLC. Sarah plans, designs and manages execution of Omeza’s operations and go-to-market strategy, ensuring that innovative wound care products are made known and available to key patient and consumer populations. Having first joined Omeza as Director of Sales & Marketing, Sarah has leveraged key partnerships and capital resources to bring the Omeza product line from prototype to launch.
Prior to joining Omeza, Sarah managed customer and store systems projects for Bealls, Inc as a Business Architect and Senior Analyst. Prior to Bealls, Sarah held marketing and technology positions with Helicopter Marketing, WelchmanPierpoint Consulting, and MET Laboratories. She earned her MBA from University of South Florida, as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (international honor society) and the Paul Webecke Award Winner. Her undergraduate degree, a BS in Philosophy, was earned from Towson University in Baltimore, MD. She is passionate about end user experience, value-based market offerings, and strategic integrity, and ensures that Omeza continually makes philanthropy a key priority.
Griscom "Chip" Bettle
Chief Innovations Officer
Griscom (Chip) Bettle is Chief Innovations Officer at Omeza, LLC. Chip develops ground-breaking, leading-edge biotechnology solutions which form the basis of the Omeza product line. A renowned inventor and chemical engineer, Chip has spent a long career in product development for numerous industries.
In addition, Chip is President of CBC Research, Inc, and EVP of Engineering at Blue Frog Technology, LLC. Prior to his current projects, Chip was Senior Vice President of Technology for Tropicana Products for 10 years, and Associate Director of Product Development for Procter & Gamble for 11 years. His professional work includes some of the most recognizable consumer products and household brands in the world.
Wendi Chapman, Esq.
Gen. Counsel, VP Finance + Admin
As VP of Finance and Administration and General Counsel, Wendi provides legal and business operations support to Omeza, and handle investor relations. Wendi is also Director of Operations for The Brenn Foundation and Executive Director of Bridge Angel Investors, a membership group providing funding and mentorship to early stage companies throughout Florida.
Previously, Wendi held the position of Vice President of The San Francisco Marathon, a 25,000 participant event for which she managed a team of fifteen and launched the Worth The Hurt and Berkeley Half Marathon spin-off events and brands; the latter earned her a proclamation from the Mayor of Berkeley for bringing significant economic impact to the city. In this role, Wendi managed sales and sponsorships, led creative direction and new business development across all affiliated brands, and served as primary liaison to the Mayor’s Office, City Council and national and international race partners. Prior to Wendi’s move to the west coast, she lived in Washington, DC and held the position of General Counsel for Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation, a Nobel-peace prize winning non-profit responsible for founding the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.
Dr. Desmond Bell, DPM, CWS
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Desmond Bell is the Founder and President of “The Save A Leg, Save A Life” Foundation, a multi-disciplinary non-profit organization dedicated to the reduction in lower extremity amputations and improving wound healing outcomes through education, evidence-based methodology and community outreach. His private practice in Jacksonville, FL, specializes in wound management and is dedicated to lower extremity preservation. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer of Omeza, an evidence based medical technology company and consumer healthcare products company initially focused on healing chronic wounds and preventing their recurrence.
Dr. Bell was awarded the Frist Humanitarian Award by Specialty Hospital Jacksonville for 2009 and Memorial Hospital Jacksonville in 2018. He is a Board Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) having served on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Wound Management for 6 years and presently serving on the Board of the American Board of Wound Management Foundation. He has also been elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is a member of the CLI Global Society. Dr. Bell has published numerous articles primarily pertaining to wound management and lower extremity amputation prevention and has served as an Editorial Board Member for the publication “Today’s Wound Clinic” since its inception. He is nationally recognized speaker, with regular faculty roles at AMP, ASCENT and Modern Wound Care Management.
Vice President, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
As VP of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs at Omeza, Karen is responsible for implementing and maintaining a compliant quality management system, managing ISO 13485 requirements, and overseeing regulatory approval and compliance activities. Karen brings over 30 years of experience to Omeza in the pharmaceutical, consumer product and medical device industries, including deep knowledge of GMP regulations and proven experience developing and implementing quality systems in regulated industries. In addition to expertise in Quality System compliance, Karen also has experience in Global Regulatory Affairs. She supports increasing corporate revenue through opening access to new countries by partnering with regulatory agencies and authorized representatives to facilitate product expansion.
Previously Karen worked for Barr Laboratories, Perdue Frederick Company, Timerx Technologies, Cadbury Schweppes, Biolife, LLC and Rapid Pathogen Screening. Karen has a BS in Biology from Rochester Institute of Technology and a MS in Organizational Leadership from Mercy College.
Director of Operations
Lalania Hayes is Omeza’s Director of Operations. Her role combines supply chain management, project management and vendor coordination as the company develops its production, fulfillment and quality assurance infrastructure. Previously, Lalania was Chief Operations Officer at Rock Bottom Bottles, an online wholesale distributor of packaging products based in Sarasota. She received her Associates of Science in Medical Assisting from Keiser University.
Director of Business Development
Kristi Daugherty is Director of Business Development for Omeza. She leads the company’s efforts in partnering with leading clinicians, research institutions, and healthcare innovators, including coordination of multi-center research trials, physician research investigations and other pilots during the company’s evidence development phase. With over 20 years of experience in business development, executive management and strategic planning in the biotech and biomedical industries, Kristi has worked with companies like Pharmacia & Upjohn, Pfizer, Maxim Healthcare, Venice Hospital System, Carter’s Pharmacy Chain, and NuLife Solutions. She has successfully launched ground-breaking technologies, marketed scientific discoveries and developed cutting-edge services. She has also developed profitable business strategies for a national network of endocrinologists, cardiac surgeons, internal medicine physicians and plastic surgeons involved in integrative and regenerative medicine. She received her BS from the University of Florida.
Lindsey Osburn is the company’s Marketing Manager, responsible for executing marketing initiatives, working with Omeza’s marketing vendors and partners, managing marketing and sales assets and coordinating marketing communications. Previously, she was Brand Manager of Ecommerce at Shore, a resort lifestyle clothing brand based in Sarasota. She attended Valencia College.
Laboratory Manager, Analytical R&D Chemist
Michael is Omeza's Laboratory Manager and Analytical R&D Chemist. Previously a chemist/analyst at PPi Technologies Group, he was also an undergraduate researcher at the University of South Florida. Michael received his BS in Biomedical Sciences from USF.
